How we look after your information
This explains what personal information we collect when you get in touch or book a job, what we do with it, and your rights. Last updated 2 November 2026.
Who we are
Acid Dipping 'n' Powder Coating is run by Dave as a sole trader from Unit 1, Lyminster Nursery, Littlehampton BN17 7QF. Dave is responsible for the personal information described here (the “data controller”). If you have any questions about it, contact us by email at dave@aciddippingnpowdercoating.co.uk or by phone on 07763 969841.
What we collect
- When you ask for a quote through this website, by email, phone or WhatsApp: your name, email address, phone number, the details of your job and any photos you send.
- When you book a job: your address if we collect or deliver, plus records of the work we do and your payment.
Your photos may show other details, such as a number plate or where they were taken. We only use them to price and plan your job.
How we use it, and why we’re allowed to
- To reply to you and give you a quote, because you asked us to.
- To carry out your job, including collection, delivery and tyre fitting, because that’s our agreement with you.
- To keep business and tax records, because the law requires it.
- To deal with any questions or problems about a job later, because it’s in both our interests to have the details to hand.
We don’t send marketing emails, and we never sell your information or share it for marketing.
Who we share it with
- Our tyre partner, if you book tyre removal and refitting. We only pass on what they need to do the job.
- Companies that help run the business: Hostinger hosts this website and sends us your quote form, Google provides our email, and WhatsApp (Meta) carries messages if you contact us there. They handle information under their own security and data protection terms. Some of them may store information outside the UK, with safeguards approved under UK law.
- Our accountant and HMRC, where the law requires it.
Photos of finished work
We sometimes share photos of finished work on this website and our Facebook page. We never include your name or number plate. If you’d rather we didn’t feature your item, just tell us.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t go ahead: deleted within 12 months.
- Customer and job records: kept for as long as tax law requires, currently at least 5 years after the 31 January Self Assessment deadline for the tax year, then deleted.
Keeping it safe
The quote form is sent over a secure, encrypted connection. We keep your information in password-protected accounts and only use it for the reasons above.
Cookies and this website
- This website doesn’t use cookies, visitor tracking or advertising.
- If you use the 3D wheel or price estimator, your choices are kept briefly in your browser so they can fill in the quote form. They’re deleted when you close the tab.
- Like most websites, our web host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages visited, to keep the site secure.
- If you choose to play our video or open our location in Google Maps, YouTube or Google will load and their own privacy and cookie policies apply. WhatsApp buttons open WhatsApp.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that’s wrong
- delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law
- stop or limit how we use it
- send your information to you or someone else in a common format
To do any of these, email or call us. There’s normally no charge, and we’ll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
